WASHINGTON — Six reputed members of a criminal street gang in the District of Columbia are being sentenced for a series of assaults.
The men, who prosecutors belonged to a gang known as Show Out, are scheduled to be sentenced Friday in D.C. Superior Court.
They earlier pleaded guilty to aggravated assault and criminal street gang participation.
Police and prosecutors say the group targeted homeless people, immigrants and others they thought were vulnerable in a series of thefts and beatings, including one that left a man unconscious last June.
Prosecutors say in a sentencing memorandum that the men have shown “little reflection, empathy or remorse.”
