WASHINGTON — Metro says it’s closing part of the red and green lines for weekend work.

Metro says free express and local shuttle buses will replace red line trains between Glenmont and Fort Totten on Saturday and Sunday. Customers taking an express bus should add about 30 minutes to their travel time. Travelers taking local buses should add up to 50 minutes.

On the green line, shuttle buses will replace trains between Congress Heights and Branch Avenue on Saturday. Customers using express buses should add 25 minutes to travel times. Customers using local buses should add 50 minutes.

On the orange line, trains will single track between Clarendon and Foggy Bottom and between Stadium-Armory and Cheverly. Blue line trains will single track between Arlington Cemetery and Foggy Bottom.
