WASHINGTON — Washington National Cathedral is hosting its annual family festival called Flower Mart for the next two days, offering plant sales, food and entertainment.
The cathedral’s All Hallows Guild is hosting the festival for the 74th year on Friday and Saturday. It raises funds to care for the 59 acres of gardens and landscape surrounding the cathedral.
This year’s festival will feature a photography exhibit from the American Society of Photographers and presentations by horticulture experts and National Park Service rangers.
On Saturday, the Cathedral Voices choir will perform inside the church, which is undergoing repairs after it was severely damaged in a 2011 earthquake.
On Sunday, the cathedral’s head stone mason and its new preservation director will discuss the cathedral’s progress in restoring the facility.
