CAPITOL HEIGHTS, Md. — Two Prince George’s County firefighters received minor burns battling a massive house fire in Capitol Heights Friday afternoon.

Firefighters responded to the home in the 1100 block of Addison Road South in Capitol Heights around 3 p.m. They initially entered the two-story, wood-frame home engulfed in flames to search for the home owner, but were forced to evacuate shortly after when conditions became too dangerous.

The adult occupant was later found safe outside the home. It took firefighters approximately twenty minutes to knock down the bulk of the fire.

Officials say two brothers who were in the process of renovating the home will be displaced, and assisted by the Citizen Services Unit and the American Red Cross.
