Double Homicide in Laurel; Disabled Woman Found Unharmed in Home
LAUREL, Md. (CBSDC) — Police are investigating a double homicide in Laurel after two people were found dead in an apartment Thursday morning.
Prince George’s County police said they responded at about 8:15 a.m. to the 9600 block of Muirkirk Road and found a man and woman suffering from upper body trauma. The victims have been identified as 42-year-old James Vell Ferguson and 45-year-old Tina Towler, both of Laurel.
Both Ferguson and Towler were pronounced dead on the scene.
The female victim’s physically disabled 25-year-old daughter was found in the house unharmed when police arrived. She has been taken to the hospital for observation, according a county police spokesperson Julie Parker.
Police said they were called to the house after a nurse who cares for the woman’s daughter found the victims during a routine visit.
Investigators say neighbors reported hearing loud voices in the home about 5 a.m. and detectives are working to find a suspect and a motive.
