WASHINGTON — D.C. police say they won’t pursue charges against a man arrested in a fatal shooting this week because it appears he may have acted out of self-defense.

Kenneth Brown had been arrested Wednesday in the shooting of Thomas Terrell Jamison on the 1200 block of Raum Street northeast.

Police found the 43-year-old Brown suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital and charged with second-degree murder while armed.

But the department on Thursday said it now appears that Brown may have acted in self-defense and that he won’t face any charges.
