Wilson Pay Cut Saves Cash-Strapped Redskins $2 Million

WASHINGTON (CBSDC) – 106.7 The Fan’s Grant Paulsen has confirmed the Redskins have re-structured the contract of corner Josh Wilson, saving the team approximately $2 million against the cap in 2013.

Wilson’s re-structured deal, first reported by Zac Boyer of the The Free Lance-Star, means the DeMatha grad will make roughly $2 million during the 2013 NFL season, down from the $3.9 million he was slated to make on the last year of his deal.

“We are here to win championships and sacrifices have to be made to achieve that,” Wilson told Grant Paulsen. “Most of the time it’s our body we sacrifice, but because of our situation I made a financial sacrifice so our team could be in the best possible position to win.”
