FAIRFAX, Va. — The Potomac Nationals and the U.S. Forest Service are planting 187 trees, one for every bat the team’s players broke last year.

The minor league team from Woodbridge, Va., has pledged to plant a tree for every bat players break. The trees from the “Break a Bat, Plant a Tree” program are being planted in Fairfax, Va., during a ceremony Friday.
