GAITHERSBURG, Md. (CBSDC) — The man who died after being Tasered by Montgomery County police Friday night has been identified as 51-year-old Anthony Howard.
Officers responded to 8800 block of Cross Country Place in Gaithersburg around 6:10 p.m. Friday after a 911 caller said a man was standing in parked pick-up truck, hitting it with rocks, yelling profanities and crawling on other vehicles. After the man ignored orders to get off the front porch of the home, police say two officers Tasered him.
As he was being handcuffed, authorities say they noticed Howard was not breathing. CPR was administered immediately and the man was taken to nearby Shady Grove Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
