Tornado Watch in Effect Until 10 p.m.

LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC) — The National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Watch that is in effect through much of the D.C. Metro area until 10 p.m.

In Maryland, the watch includes Calvert County, Anne Arundel County, Prince Georges County, Howard County, Charles County, Montgomery County and Frederick County.

In Virginia, it includes Arlington County, Stafford County, Prince William County, Loudoun County, Spotsylvania County, Fauquier County and the City of Fairfax.

Channel 9 Meteorologist Erica Grow said, in addition to causing a tornado risk, the strong cold front coming through the area will likely cause gusts, severe thunderstorms and lows of 48 to 56 degrees overnight.

Tomorrow will be sunny but cooler.
