Reports: Georgetown’s Porter Will Join Maryland’s Len, Enter NBA Draft
WASHINGTON (CBSDC/AP) — Georgetown’s Otto Porter will announce Monday he is declaring his eligibility for the NBA draft according to multiple reports.
The school has scheduled an afternoon availability for the Hoyas sophomore and coach John Thompson III.
Porter was the Big East player of the year and a first-team AP All-America this season. He also finished second in the voting behind Michigan’s Trey Burke for AP player of the year.
Porter averaged 16.2 points and 7.5 rebounds this season for the Hoyas, who were a No. 2 seed in the NCAA tournament, but lost their opening game to Florida Gulf Coast.
University of Maryland center Alex Len will also forgo his final two years of his college eligibility and enter the draft according to multiple reports.
The 7 feet 1 inch native of Ukraine is projected to be a top 10 pick and has hired and agent.
