ANNAPOLIS, Md. — First lady Michelle Obama will visit the United States Naval Academy and deliver remarks at a bill-signing for Maryland’s Veterans Full Employment Act of 2013.

Obama will be present on Wednesday as Gov. Martin O’Malley signs into law legislation that will enable veterans who apply for occupational and professional licenses in Maryland to get credit for their military training, education and experience.

The measure requires public colleges and universities to develop policies to award academic credit for relevant military training and education. It also creates an expedited licensing procedure for veterans and military spouses who hold professional licenses in other states.

White House officials say that Obama will meet with service members who will be impacted by the new legislation before the bill signing.
