WASHINGTON (CBSDC) — I’ve said before the best part of my job is being able to merge my passion for the NFL with my love of pro wrestling. As it turns out, WWE wrestler The Miz is driven by the same likes.

Recently, he sat down with Washington Redskins defensive end Adam Carriker and I for a segment on 4th & Pain, heard Sunday morning on 106.7 The Fan.

While sitting across from a Redskins player, The Miz took the opportunity to take a little shot at the Dallas Cowboys.

“I like Tony Romo. He’s obviously a top 10 quarterback,” he said before ‘turning heel.’

“I don’t think he’s in the elite … I think Drew Brees, Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady are the top guys.

“Tony Romo will definitely get you some (fantasy) points. Granted, he’s not going to win you games for the Dallas Cowboys.”

As for the Redskins, Miz, who hosts a fantasy football show during the NFL season, says the team is on track to become something special after years of spinning their tires in place. He likens the franchise’s struggles to those of his beloved Cleveland Browns.

“The Redskins just had a great offseason last year,” he told Carriker and I. “They picked up Pierre Garcon. You got Alfred Morris and RGIII. It seemed like they finally started clicking.”

The Miz doesn’t see the pattern changing this offseason, although the second half of a $36 million salary cap penalty is preventing them from making a splash in free agency.

4th & Pain with Adam Carriker and Chuck Carroll airs each weekday at noon on 4thAndPain.com and Sunday mornings at 8 o’clock on 106.7 The Fan. Follow the show on Twitter: @4thAndPain.
