Five Injured in Car Crash Outside D.C. School

WASHINGTON (CBSDC) — A single-car accident outside a Southeast D.C. school injured five people, three of them seriously, on Wednesday afternoon.

D.C. police said they received a call at about 1 p.m. Wednesday for a car that crashed into a tree outside Eastern Senior High School on East Capitol Street near 17th Street.

A D.C. fire spokesman said five people were taken to the hospital, three of them with serious injuries. An 11-month-old child was one of the five injured, but its injuries weren’t serious. A police spokesman said one person was trapped inside the vehicle and had to be extricated.

Police said the accident is under investigation.
