WASHINGTON (CBSDC) – Ready to celebrate Redskins fans?

Washington already has one of the league’s most popular players in quarterback Robert Griffin III, but according to a report on the latest jersey sales totals, the Redskins may have the most popular player in the history of the game.

ESPN’s Darren Rovell is reporting that on top of ending the 2012 NFL season with the league’s best-selling jersey, in the time span of one fiscal year – from April 1, 2012 to March 1, 2013 – Griffin’s no. 10 jersey has outsold every other jersey in the history of the league in the same amount of time.

The Offensive Rookie of the Year sold more jerseys in a year that saw: Peyton Manning carry a new team to the playoffs, Tom Brady and the Patriots score the third highest point total in NFL history, and Ray Lewis launch a retirement campaign to the Super Bowl.
