C.M. Punk Tells Chad Dukes ‘I Don’t Just Show Up To WWE And Do Whatever’
C.M. Punk can’t exactly do everything he wants in WWE, but he does have a good amount of say as to what goes on with his character on television.
Among fans, it’s often thought a wrestler is given a script and told to go out and regurgitate it verbatim with absolutely no deviation whatsoever. When you reach a certain level of success, however, that’s not always going to be the case.
Perhaps no wrestler proves that point more so than Punk, who admitted to 106.7 The Fan’s Chad Dukes it’s amazing “what a little squeaking” can get a person.
“When you’re at this level, like a guy like me, John Cena, Triple H … you have input,” Punk said. “It’s not like you’re just showing up to work and you’re looking at the sheet, seeing your name and just doing whatever. There’s input … thought put into it.”
Punk, known as the longest-reigning WWE Champion of the modern era, recently held the title for 434 days before losing it to The Rock in January.
On Sunday, he will face The Undertaker in one of the most highly anticipated matches in WrestleMania history.
