LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC) — Former Washington Redskins wide receiver Anthony Armstrong is returning to the team’s archrival.

Armstrong, 30, will re-sign with the Dallas Cowboys just one week after being cut by the team in a move to create salary cap space. He will sign a one-year deal worth $630,000 according to the Fort Worth Star Telegram.

He also visited with the New York Giants earlier this week.

Armstrong’s most productive season came in 2010 when he caught 44 passes for 871 yards and three touchdowns for the Redskins.

The West Texas A&M product, who still has strong ties to the Washington area, has a sense of humor about signing with the Redskins rival. He joked about it on Twitter Wednesday afternoon.

Armstrong spent time with Miami Dolphins, Jacksonville Jaguars and Cowboys after he was cut by the Redskins at the conclusion of training camp last season.
