LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC) — One of the candidates running for an at-large seat on the D.C. Council has dropped out of the race.
“It is with extreme disappointment that I am withdrawing from the at-large council race,” Michael A. Brown tweeted just after 7 p.m. Tuesday.
The special election, scheduled for April 23, is being held to fill the seat vacated by current Council Chair Phil Mendelson. Councilmember Anita Bonds is temporarily filling the seat. Brown was not one of the candidates who attended a forum Monday night.
