Surveillance Video Shows Alleged Groper Entering Store Before Assault

LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC) — Police have surveillance video of the man they believe is responsible for groping a woman in a HomeGoods store in Alexandria last week.

Fairfax County Police released the 12-second clip Monday that shows an unidentified man wearing what appears to be a dark coat and dark winter hat as he walks through the doors into the HomeGoods store in the Kingstowne Shopping Center.

A 31-year-old woman told police she was grabbed by a man while shopping inside the HomeGoods store at about 3 p.m. Thursday.

Despite this assault taking place indoors and near other people, detectives are confident the incident is connected to the series of assaults that have taken place in the Springfield area in the past couple months.

Police ask anyone with information to call 703-691-2131 or contact CrimeSolvers at 866-411-TIPS.
