LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC) — President Barack Obama had already stated his NCAA bracket was ‘busted,’ but Indiana’s loss Thursday night really did him in.
The Hoosiers, whom Obama picked to win the national championship, were upset by the fourth-seed Syracuse Orange at the Verizon Center in Washington — just a stone’s throw from 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.
The president’s other Final Four picks — Louisville, Ohio State and Florida — are still alive in the tournament and can punch their ticket to the Elite Eight with wins Friday night.
Heading into Friday’s Sweet 16 contests, the president ranks 2,755,808 among all basketball fans who filled out brackets on ESPN.com this year.
Last year Obama ranked 2,347,421 out of roughly 6.45 million entries after incorrectly picking North Carolina to win it all.
