Police Seeking Two Persons of Interest in Fatal D.C. Shooting
WASHINGTON (CBSDC) — Police are searching for two persons of interest in connection with a fatal shooting outside a nightclub in Northwest D.C. last week.
D.C. Police released a surveillance video Thursday that shows two black males believed to be responsible for the shooting death of 24-year-old Paul Danzo outside the Balletto nightclub in the early hours of March 21.
The video shows the suspects walking out of a parking garage and into the Balletto nightclub. The video also shows the suspects’ vehicle — a black BMW with unknown tags — exiting the parking garage just before the shooting took place outside the nightclub.
Danzo, of Laurel, was shot in the head while inside a car parked along the 1700 block of L Street near the Farragut North Metro station.
Police believe the two unknown suspects are responsible for the shooting and are looking for the public’s assistance in locating them.
A witness said the shooting may have been the result of a dispute between patrons of Balletto, where a ‘Scandal Wednesdays’ event that night was attended by Washington Redskins running back Evan Royster. Royster told WNEW he left the club hours before the shooting took place.
Police have not said whether whether the shooting was related to the event.
D.C. Police offer a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any homicide committed in the District.
