Three Injured After Elderly Woman Drives Onto Sidewalk

WASHINGTON (CBSDC/AP) — Police in Washington say they are investigating a crash near a bus stop that injured three.
Police say two adults and a child standing near the bus stop in Northwest Washington were struck Tuesday by a vehicle that went onto the sidewalk. Police say the department’s major crash unit is investigating the accident at Georgia Avenue and Butternut Street.
Metro officials say a bus was at stopped when a vehicle heading north on Georgia Avenue with a 79-year-old woman driving went onto the sidewalk and struck the pedestrians.
One of the victims was reported in serious condition and the child was hospitalized with a foot injury.
