Grenades Found in Dead Man’s Attic

CHESAPEAKE, Va. — Family members made an unusual discovery while cleaning out the house of a deceased man in Chesapeake.
Police tell media outlets that the family members found two grenades in the house’s attic on Tuesday.
Members of the Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal removed the grenades from the home.
One grenade didn’t have any explosive material. Authorities couldn’t determine whether the other grenade had explosive material. It was taken to Naval Weapons Station Yorktown.
No injuries were reported.
