WASHINGTON (CBSDC) - Over the course of two seasons, Michael Morse allowed his personality to shine as his play on the field progressed, and what started a joke when he first stepped into the batter’s box to a more than 25-year-old pop song molded into part of his legend he would leave on.

The walk-up song can become a defining characteristic; an identifying trait as much attributed to a baseball player as the number of home runs he hits for his ball club.

“Take On Me” by A-Ha was a joke that got totally out of control; off the rails immediately when instead of laughing when first introduced, a stadium packed with Nationals fans embraced its quirkiness as they did his, and eventually clung to it, singing along with the chorus s it filled the stands each time thereafter.

They made it a part of them, as much as they did Mr. Morse himself.

As fans we’ve all thought about it this question:

What would your walk-up song be?

Would it transform your image with an entire fan base; as “Take On Me” did with Mike Morse? Would it induce a Pavlovian fear in the heart of your opponent, as “Enter Sandman” does for Mariano Rivera in New York?

The Junkies experimented with this hypothetical Tuesday, by anonymously selecting their walk-up songs then playing them all on the show.

Phone calls were taken to see whose theme song was most likely to strike a chord with the fans. Again, it was not announced which of the Junkies selected each song as it was played, to prevent tainted fan results based on personal biases.

The seven participants included EB, JP, Cakes, Valdez, Drab, Frank Hanranhan and Ewad, the latter two serving as substitutions for the vacationing Big Papi, Jason Bishop, whose larger-than-life presence commands two people as a replacement.

Imagine your own walk-up song.

Imagine making that long walk from the on-deck circle around the long side of the backstop to the batter’s box, staring back at the pitcher all-the-while. As you approach the plate, you grit your teeth and twitch your wrists to feel the might of the bat extending from your fingertips.

Which song best defines YOU in that moment?
