Man Struck, Killed By School Bus in Germantown Identified

GERMANTOWN, Md. (CBSDC) — The man who was struck and killed by a school bus as he attempted to cross Clopper Road in Germantown Thursday morning has been identified as 55-year-old George Pezdirtz III.

No children were on the bus when it struck Pezdirtz shortly before 6:30 a.m., according to authorities.

The driver of the bus has also been identified, as 57-year-old Telma Elizabeth Ramirez, of Poolesville. She remained on the scene and provided information to police.

The roadway was closed for hours as police investigated the accident. All lanes are now open.

Pezdirtz was not inside of a crosswalk when the bus struck him, WNEW’s Kevin Patrick reports.
