LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC) — A customer craving some Chinese food had an extended stay at a Vienna restaurant Sunday night.
Vienna police officer Gary Lose said a woman was dining in at East Chateau, a Chinese restaurant at 146 Maple Ave. in Vienna, on Sunday night when she went to the restroom for an undisclosed period of time. When the woman returned to the dining area, she noticed the restaurant had been closed, all employees were gone, and she was locked inside, Lose said.
The woman was able to unlock the front door of the restaurant and exit the building. She then called police just before 10:30 p.m. to alert them of the incident and to notify the restaurant of the unlocked door.
Lose said a restaurant employee returned to the store to lock the front door.
An East Chateau employee told WNEW that the restaurant closes at 10 p.m. on Sundays.
