WASHINGTON — High demand for tickets to Broadway’s hit musical “The Book of Mormon” has been stressing the Kennedy Center’s website in recent weeks.
When tickets went on sale for Kennedy Center donors and friends on Feb. 27, the high demand crashed the center’s website for several hours.
On Thursday morning, tickets went on sale to the general public. This time, the center limited access to the ticketing website, creating waiting rooms online before buyers could access the ticketing system. But the site briefly crashed again about 20 minutes after tickets went on sale.
The center had similar problems handling high demand for tickets to “Wicked.”
“The Book of Mormon” visits Washington July 9 through Aug. 18.
