WASHINGTON (CBSDC) — If you’re a District of Columbia resident who earned $100,000 last year, your jaw may have dropped when you did your taxes.
The Office of the Chief Financial Officer exclusively confirms to WNEW’s Kevin Patrick that a mistake in the 2012 tax booklet calculates a $100,000 income as if it were a $350,000 income.
The OCFO says the online version of the annual tax book will be amended Wednesday.
In an email to WNEW, D.C. officials note they would have caught the overpayment error during processing.
