LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC) — The Washington Redskins have tendered nose tackle Chris Baker. The tender is for a one-year, right of first refusal deal that is worth roughly $1.3 million, Grant Paulsen reports.
He may still negotiate with other teams and may sign with them provided their offer exceeds the Redskins’ offer.
However, it would appear Baker has his sights on returning to Washington. Shortly after news of the deal broke, a happy Baker shared his enthusiasm on Twitter.
“Looks like I’ll be back for another (year),” he wrote. “I’m overwhelmed with joy right now God is good.”
Baker appeared in 14 games, recording 15 tackles with one pass defensed, while spelling an injured Chris Neild last season.
Washington has agreed to new deals with five of their six impending restricted free agents. Brandon Banks is the lone player in the group not to have been offered a new deal.
