SILVER SPRING, Md. — Montgomery County police say a bicyclist was struck and killed when he rode into an intersection on a red light in downtown Silver Spring.
The collision occurred shortly after 9 p.m. Sunday at Silver Spring Avenue and Fenton Street.
Police say 23-year-old Jesus Antonia Hernandez of Silver Spring was not wearing a helmet when he was struck by a Toyota Corolla. He was taken to a hospital, where he died. The driver of the car sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
The collision remains under investigation. No charges have been filed.
