LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC)– A crash near the Key Bridge in Rosslyn early Sunday left 21-year-old Sami Ullah, of Leesburg, dead and sent two other men to the hospital with critical injuries.
Shortly before 5 a.m., Ullah was driving a BMW M5 across the bridge at a high rate of speed, according to witnesses. Investigators now believe the car may have been exceeding 90 miles per hour. It hit a curve, flipped four to five times and came to a stop on its roof near the Key Bridge Marriott.
Ullah, who was wearing a seat belt, died at the scene. One of the passengers was ejected. Another passenger was pulled out of the vehicle. Both were taken to a District hospital.
One of the men is now in a medically-induced coma with several broken bones and a hematoma near his heart, according to police. There is no additional information about the status of the other injured passenger.
