LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC) — The eastbound lanes of H Street NW in Chinatown have reopened after a Metro bus struck a man as he was crossing the street Thursday morning.

Authorities say the man was not inside of a crosswalk when he was struck around 7:40 a.m. He was conscious and breathing while transported to the hospital, police say.

Early indications are the man was at fault.

Nine passengers on the bus were not hurt in the accident.

H Street between 6th Street and 7th Street was closed for a time while police investigated.
