3 Arrested After DC Officer Is Hit By Car
WASHINGTON — Police have charged three people in a hit-and-run crash that injured a D.C. police officer.
It happened about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in southeast. Police say the officer was on his motor scooter and stopped when he was hit by a vehicle that fled the scene.
The officer suffered multiple injuries and is being treated at a local hospital.
Police on Wednesday arrested three men in connection with the crime. Twenty-four-year-old Kevin Burno was charged with felony assault on a police officer. Twenty-two-year-old Antonio Parks and 25-year-old Darrin Twisdale were both charged with obstruction of justice and possession of an open container of alcohol.
