LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC)- A construction zone accident involving three vehicles in Prince George’s County Monday morning has left at least one man dead.
According to Prince George’s County Police, a Dodge Charger heading north on Maryland Route 202 struck a sign and a Ford Expedition before colliding with a stationary cement truck shortly before noon.
The man inside the Charger, identified as 37-year-old Tryonski Johnson of Bowie, died and two other passengers were transported to a local hospital. The two passengers are in serious condition.
One construction zone worker was transported for non-life threatening injuries and a passenger from the Expedition also sustained non-life threatening injuries.
Police say there were signs warning about the work zone located a half-mile before the scene of impact.
Route 202 was closed in both directions from Firehouse Road to Route 704.
