LEWISDALE, Md. (CBSDC) — Police in Prince George’s County are investigating the murder of a Lewisdale teen who was shot to death Thursday night.
Meyder Bladimir Yuman, 18, was shot in the 7200 block of 24th Avenue around 7 p.m., police say. Yuman was taken to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Norma Yuman, Meyder’s mother, said she last saw her son about an hour before he was killed, when he left the house to go on a walk with some friends.
Police said Meyder and his friends were walking along 24th Avenue when they were approached by a suspect or group of suspects in a car. After the suspects exited the car, a confrontation ensued which resulted in Meyder being shot. Police believe the suspect or suspects were driving a gold or tan, four-door Toyota Corolla with Maryland tags.
Police still are working to determine a motive in the shooting and identify suspects.
Meyder didn’t have any enemies, Norma said Friday, as she mourned with family and friends at her home.
Anyone with information regarding the case is asked to contact detectives at 301-772-4925. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information that leads to an arrest and conviction.
