LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC/AP)– Maryland Live! casino announced Tuesday that table games will be introduced there on April 11, pending regulatory approval.
Officials at the casino said in November that they planned to hire 1,200 new employees, including 800 dealers, to staff more than 125 planned table games. Candidates began attending a 12-week dealer school in January.
Maryland Live! also says less than 10 percent of the property’s slot machine inventory has been removed to create room for table games. That means there are more than 4,300 slot machines at the casino next to Arundel Mills Mall in Hanover.
Maryland voters approved the gambling expansion to allow table games in November’s general election.
