Human Remains Found By Hikers in Laurel

LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC)– Investigators are trying to determine the origin of human remains that were discovered by hikers in Laurel Sunday afternoon.

Anne Arundel County Police were called to the area of Spring Road and Whiskey Bottom Road around noon. The caller told officers that he and his girlfriend were in the woods when they found what looked to be a human skull.

The Medical Examiner also responded to the scene, and later confirmed that the remains were human. Cause and manner death, however, has not yet been determined.
