LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC) — A 46-year-old Capitol Heights man has been arrested and charged in connection with the murder of 71-year-old Geraldine McIntyre.
On Feb. 9, at approximately 3 p.m., patrol officers responded to the 1200 block of Chapel Oaks Drive for a welfare check call. Upon arrival, they found McIntyre suffering from multiple stab wounds to her upper body. She was taken to an area hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Investigators say James Alphonso Ward murdered McIntyre then stole a television from her home.
He is charged with first and second degree murder and is being held at the Department of Corrections.
