WASHINGTON — D.C. police say a Virginia man was shot and killed following a dispute inside a nightclub, and a suspect is in custody.
Police say 30-year-old Joseph Hardin of Alexandria was fatally shot early Saturday morning in the 1900 block of 9th Street, Northwest. The location is just a few blocks from the Howard University campus in an area known for nightlife.
Police say the gunman, 24-year-old Cedric Spicer of Northwest Washington, was arrested immediately after the shooting. He’s been charged with first-degree murder while armed.
Officer Hugh Carew, a police spokesman, says Hardin and Spicer got into some kind of dispute inside 1920DC, a nightclub and lounge. The argument continued onto the street, where Hardin was shot.
