GLENARDEN, Md. (CBSDC) - A fourth victim of a Glenarden house fire has succumbed to injuries sustained in the Prince George’s County blaze early Thursday morning.
Prince George’s County Fire says 11-year-old Daijah Price passed away late Friday evening at Children’s National Medical Center, where she was being treated for her wounds.
Daijah Price was initially revived after being pulled from the single-story home – located in the 8600 block of Leslie Avenue – without a pulse by first responders, but was said to be in grave condition.
Price’s father, 36-year-old Darrell Terrance Price Jr., and two sisters – Tania Monae Jeanita, 8, and Patrice Price, 4 – were also killed in the fire that broke out around 4 a.m. on Friday.
A 33-year-old female and 8-year-old female, twin sister to Tania, were hospitalized for smoke inhalation and other minor injuries, but have since been released. They reportedly escaped the flames through a window.
Authorities have confirmed that there was not a smoke detector in the house and the cause of the blaze was electrical in nature.
