GHENT, Belgium (CBSDC) – Maybe it doesn’t feel so good after all.
A new study has found that circumcised men had less intense sexual experiences and orgasms compared to uncircumcised men.
According to the Belgian newspaper Het Laatste Neieuws, Piet Hoebeke of Ghent University Hospital in Ghent, Belgium, surveyed 1,369 men ages 18 and over, asking them to rate the sensitivity of their penis, the intensity of their orgasms and whether they experienced any pain or numbness when aroused. Of the 1,059 uncircumcised surveyed, they scored between 0.2 to 0.4 points higher on the sensitivity and sexual pleasure scale compared to the scores tallied by the 310 circumcised men surveyed.
“It’s not a very big difference in sensitivity, but it’s a significant difference,” Hoebeke said in the study.
According to the study, researchers also discovered that circumcised men were more likely to report pain or numbness when aroused.
“That’s very amazing and that was unexpected,” Hoebeke said.
