GLENARDEN, Md. (CBSDC) — A man and two young children are dead after a fire ripped through their Glenarden home early Thursday morning.
The blaze began around 4 a.m. in 8600 block of Leslie Avenue. Authorities have since confirmed that there was not a smoke detector in the single-story house.
A 36-year-old male, an 8-year-old girl and a 4-year-old girl were pronounced dead shortly after arriving at an area hospital. An 11-year-old girl had her pulse restored and has been transferred to Children’s Hospital where she remains in grave condition.

A 33-year-old and an 8-year-old, twin sister to one of the deceased, managed to escape out of a window. They sustained non-life threatening injuries.
The names of the deceased and the cause of the fire are being withheld until the investigation and an autopsy by the State of Maryland Office of the Chief Medical Examiner are complete.
