Another Suitland High Student Killed; Victim Identified

FORESTVILLE, Md. (CBSDC)– Another Suitland High School freshman was fatally shot at an apartment complex on Donnell Drive in Forestville on Tuesday evening, police said.

Prince George’s County police identified the victim as 18-year-old Aaron Burrell Kidd, of District Heights. A second 18-year-old male victim is in critical condition.

The shooting happened around 5:30 p.m., just as police were wrapping up a briefing updating the public on their search for another Suitland High student’s killer.

Charles Walker, a 15-year-old freshman, was shot and killed Monday afternoon. So far, no arrests have been made in that case.

Kidd’s death Tuesday night marked the sixth Prince George’s County student to die in a violent act this school year. Police say there is no connection between any of the shootings.

Prince George’s County Public Schools released a statement about the shooting Tuesday.

“We are horrified to learn that tragedy struck another one of our students within a 24-hour time-span,” wrote spokesperson Briant K. Coleman. “Our hearts are broken again and we extend our deepest sympathy and condolences to the family. We cannot go another day without addressing these unspeakable acts of violence against our students. We are asking for the community’s support as our students, teachers and employees cope with these incidents.”
