(LANHAM, Md.) - Metro Transit police have arrested a suspect wanted in an auto theft that occurred in Alexandria on Saturday morning.
According to NBC4, police have taken 49-year-old Isom Cooper into custody in connection with the Addison Road Metro Station auto theft.
Police were able to track the vehicle to the parking lot of a shopping center on Van Dorn Street in Alexandria, through an iPhone that was left in the car. When police approached the vehicle the suspect fled, dragging a police officer a short distance.
The suspect abandoned the car and fled on foot. Later Saturday afternoon police found him at a Comfort Inn Hotel.
Police have charged Cooper in connection with the theft and say more chargers could be pending.
