LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC)- Queen Anne’s County Sheriff Gary Hofmann is offering Valentine’s Day gifts to those bringing in tips about the area’s most wanted “valentines,” or criminals.
In a campy YouTube video the Sheriff’s Office posted to its Facebook page Thursday morning, Hofmann said Valentine’s Day bouquets are waiting for those with tips leading to the arrest of any of the video’s six “most wanted valentines.”
Their crimes range from burglary to threat of arson.
The Sheriff regularly posts “Most Wanted” videos, and has also produced a Halloween edition and a Father’s Day edition featuring “deadbeat dads.”
Hofmann said the special episodes of “Most Wanted” are a good way to keep the community safe, as well as add “a little bit of humor to law enforcement.”
“We’re trying to be creative so the public doesn’t get bored of just watching a list of people who are most wanted,” he said.
The Valentine’s Day video is actually the second annual Feb. 14 effort.
“Last year I actually sat at my desk until 9 o’clock at night with no tips. Nothing that panned out. This year, I actually have two very viable tips that we’re working very hard on.”
