SILVER SPRING, Md. (CBSDC) — The Food and Drug Administration announces that Nestle has voluntarily recalled some packages of its Lean Cuisine ravioli due to glass fragments.
The press release states that small fragments of glass were found in the Lean Cuisine Culinary Collection Mushroom Mezzaluna Ravioli. No other Lean Cuisine products are affected by the recall.
The package production codes affected are 2311587812 and 2312587812 with the “best before date” as December 2013.
“The voluntary recall is limited to these two days of production, which were distributed nationwide,” the press release states.
The recall was authorized after three people found the fragments in their ravioli. No injuries were reported.
This type of Lean Cuisine ravioli was produced last November and Nestle believes very little remain in retail distribution due to its popularity.
