LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC)- A Virginia teenager is charged with aggravated sexual battery and forcible sodomy after assaulting an 8-year-old in January.

The Prince William County Police Department started looking into the assault Feb. 6. An investigation revealed that the victim, of Triangle, was visiting friends at an address in the 18400 block of Quantico Gateway Drive when she was assaulted by the accused, an acquaintance.

The 15-year-old was arrested on Feb. 8 and is being held at a juvenile detention facility. A court date is not yet available.
