DISTRICT HEIGHTS, Md. (CBSDC) – An adult entertainment club in District Heights has been shut down after a shooting there last week led police to learn it was operating illegally.
Prince George’s County police responded to the Stardust Lounge, located in the 5400 block of Marlboro Pike, for a shooting just before 3 a.m. Feb. 6 and found a man in the parking lot suffering from multiple gunshot wounds after an apparent robbery. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he remains in critical condition.
Upon further investigation into the shooting, police discovered that the club had been operating without proper permits for use and occupancy, and ordered it closed Feb. 8.
The club will remain closed as its owners appeal the decision to shut it down.
Police arrested Marcus McCray, 30, of the 200 block of Newcomb Street in Southeast D.C., and charged him with attempted first-degree murder, first-degree assault and other related charges in connection to the shooting.
McCray currently is being held on a $500,000 bond.
