LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC)- The elderly woman who died after police found her suffering from trauma during a welfare check in Capitol Heights Saturday afternoon has been identified as 71-year-old Geraldine Joyce McIntyre.
Police are calling McIntyre’s death a homicide, and are searching for a suspect, described as a 30-to-45-year old black male standing between 5-foot-7 and 5-foot-9 with a slim build and dark complexion.
He may have been wearing a dark brown or black leather jacket, black skull cap, black pants, and may have been carrying a black bag.
Prince George’s County Police found McIntyre on the 1200 block of Chapel Oaks Drive around 3 p.m. Saturday. She was later pronounced dead at an area hospital.
A cash reward is being offered for a tip that leads to the arrest of the suspect.
