LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC)- An early Saturday morning traffic stop in the District led to an arrest in connection with an October shooting death in Southeast.
Shortly before 3 a.m., 21-year-old Demonte Michael Chappelle, of Southwest, was taken into custody by the First District Patrol Division of the Metropolitan Police Department and charged with the murder of 26-year-old Stevann Moorer.
On Oct. 27, at approximately 9:08 pm, a Seventh District unit was dispatched to the 500 block of Parkland Place. Officers found Moorer suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, and he was later pronounced dead at a hospital.
